I'm not going to aikido today because Leif just peed on my gi.

Today I tried doing aikido without glasses. Occasionally I've removed them when doing certain movements that have the tendency to throw them off my head, but today I tried the whole class. I realized that they're a psychological crutch at best, and a hinderance at worst, since I tend to be more hesitant during rolls and so forth when wearing them. ( Read more... )

After Aikido today, I talked to the new student, and she expressed the same thing I'd been feeling - feeling bad when she did something wrong and got yelled at, and then worse when the person working with her got yelled at for not teaching her well enough. Today in aikido I improved my throwing myself at the ground skills. Unfortunately, I have not yet learned to miss.
